Sanwo-Olu Presents Staff of Office to Oba Kabir Adesegun Saliu as Olu Oko Baba Agba

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has officially recognised and installed Oba Kabir Adesegun Saliu as the Olu Oko Baba Agba sharing boundary wth Oworonsoki, Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The long-awaited ceremony, held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Kosofe Local Government, attracted family members, friends, traditional rulers and other dignitaries who joined residents, Oko Baba Agba  in celebrating the new monarch.

The presentation of the Staff of Office marked the formal recognition of Oba Kabir Bashir Adesegun Saliu by the Lagos State Government, paving the way for him to assume his responsibilities as the traditional ruler of the community.

The amiable monarch, who was visibly elated, received the Staff of Office amid cheers and jubilation from the people, who took to the streets of Oko Baba Agba to  celebrate the historic occasion.

The event was attended by the Permanent Secretary and officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, as well as prominent traditional rulers from Kosofe and neighbouring communities.

Among the traditional rulers present was the Onikosi, alongside other prominent kings within the local government.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity for community leaders and residents to reaffirm their support for the new monarch, while calling for continued peace, unity and development in Kosofe Local Government.

The installation of Oba Kabir Bashir Adesegun Saliu is expected to further strengthen traditional leadership and foster greater development within the community.
