The zoo attendants at university of Ibadan, one of the largest cities in West Africa and is one of the best zoos in Nigeria, mistook Daniel Abodunrin for one of the tourists visitors that stormed the zoo in 1991 to catch fun, else they would have stopped the calamity that befell him.
The daring preacher had his mind set on replicating a famous bible story illustrating a Daniel who came out alive and unscathed when deliberately thrown into lions den.
According to eye witnesses at the zoo, the large cats initially retreated on sighting the prophet entering their enclosure but before the daring man could say Jah, the big cats pounced on him and the rest is history.
Prophet Daniel Abodunrin edged his name in Nigerian history as a preacher who met his sad end while trying to recreate a famous Bible story.
