Lagos Govt Strengthens Security Partnership as Police Get Seven New Divisions

The Lagos State Government says it is committed to border responsibilities for people to live in peace while stating that Lagos will continue to be home to Police formations.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said this when 
the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone Two, Lagos and Ogun State Command, AIG Olohundare Jimoh led a delegation which included the Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai to pay him a courtesy call at the  Lagos House Ikeja.

The Governor also said the state government would continue to do what is required to support the police to meet their demands and requests especially through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund to carry out their duties and responsibilities while commending the Inspector General of Police for his efforts at ensuring the security of lives of Lagosians.

He however urged them to guide against crossed instructions and directives that would allow perpetrators to cause confusion while calling on Police to continue to look into the issues of cultisms as well as Crime and criminality in the state.

Earlier in his remarks, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone Two, Lagos and Ogun State Command commended Governor Sanwo-Olu's administration for its support which included provision of vehicles doubling of their allowances and it's friendly disposition in the discharge of their responsibilities which enhanced their jobs in the fight against crime and criminality as well as land grabbers.

He also said the new IGP had also approved the formation of seven new police divisions in the state to improve security.
