The leader of the Oodua People’s Congress reformed (OPC R), Ambassador Oludare Adesope has co mmended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts in national development while calling on him to urgently address the growing insecurity in parts of Kwara State, especially in Yoruba-speaking areas.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, the OPC leader described President Tinubu as a true son of the South-West and urged him to demonstrate his commitment to Yoruba welfare by tackling the persistent threats of kidnapping and banditry affecting communities in Kwara South.
"The Yoruba in Kwara are facing serious insecurity. We believe that with President Tinubu in power, there should be a stronger focus on protecting our people. This is the time to extend a helping hand to your kinsmen,” he said.
The OPC leader also pledged the group’s support in maintaining peace and unity, noting that traditional security outfits can complement government efforts if properly engaged.
Adesope concluded that Tinubu should do more in the area of insecurity by expressing hope that Tinubu’s administration would prioritize the safety and development of Yoruba communities within and beyond the South-West.
