OPC boss strongly condemned the call for an interim government, charged the security agencies to be on alert

The President of Oodua People’s Congress Reformed, Ambassador Oludare Adesope has strongly condemned how some group of people are calling for interim government, he warned the aggrieved parties to desist from heating the polity and believe in the rule of law while awaiting the outcome of litigation before the court of law.

This call came as a result of how some people are registering their grievances over the result of the just concluded presidential election, he said in as much as the aggrieved parties have the right to contend the result of the election in the law court and their petition is still awaiting trial but to suggest an interim government is undemocratic, unconstitutional, and unknown to Nigerian laws.

According to Adesope, the Department of State Security Service (DSS), on March 29, 2023 issued a warning on some individuals who are allegedly plotting to install an interim government in Nigeria.

The OPC boss further explained that Nigeria youth should not submit themselves as tools of anarchy, since the judiciary is the only institution empowered by law to adjudicate over post-election matters, all the citizens should focus on the task ahead as they leave the judiciary to do its job.

Democracy is running smoothly in Nigeria so nobody should act as an agent to truncate it, I personally frowned at the call by former President Olusegun Obasanjo for cancellation of the result, condemning a free and fair election of 2023 is so shameful. This may be a window which made some aggrieved politicians to sponsor protests at the national assembly and even attacked its members

He however, call on government security agencies to be on alert always so the groups clamoring interim government will not truncate our democracy. Anybody who try to move Nigeria backward would be call to order, i strongly kick against agitation for interim government.
