Adesope Celebrates Birthday with Empowerment Programme, Urges Nigerians to Embrace Giving

Globalquestmagazine

Mapo Hall, Ibadan, recently played host to a memorable gathering as members and supporters of the Oodua People’s Congress Reformed (OPC-R) converged to celebrate the birthday of the organisation’s President General, Comrade Dare Adesope (Ambassador), alongside the group’s annual empowerment programme.

The event, which combined celebration with community service, brought joy and relief to numerous beneficiaries who received support as part of the empowerment initiative.

Speaking at the occasion, Ambassador Adesope explained that the programme was designed to give back to society and encourage members of the organisation to support people in need within their communities.

He described the OPC-R as a self-funded security and cultural advocacy organisation committed to protecting lives and property, preserving Yoruba heritage and culture, and advocating for people whose voices are often unheard.
“Giving is an act of sacrifice, and you do not need to be a billionaire to help others,” Adesope said.

According to him, he deliberately chose to mark his birthday through an empowerment programme in order to inspire others to make a difference in the lives of people around them, regardless of their financial capacity.

Adesope disclosed that he has personally funded the empowerment programme for four consecutive years, stressing that the initiative remains one of the ways through which he demonstrates his commitment to community development and humanitarian service.

He, however, called on multinational corporations, philanthropic organisations, corporate bodies and other public-spirited individuals to partner with the initiative to enable it reach more people.

The OPC-R President General noted that strategic partnerships would provide an opportunity to expand the programme and extend its benefits to a wider number of people across the region.

The celebration ended on a high note, with members and beneficiaries commending Adesope for combining his personal celebration with a programme aimed at empowering and supporting members of the community.
