The Nigerian Model High School, Alakara,Idi-Oro, Old School Association 1989 Set (NIMOSA '89) has
Inaugurated her elected executive council and committees to take charge of the affairs of the association in Nigeria and overseas.
The elected President of the association, Mr. Kunle Awonuga, disclosed this in a statement while talking to the press on Sunday, 18 May, 2025, in Lagos.
Awonuga, said that the official inauguration of the elected Executive body of the NIMOSA 89’ set , held at La Regia Airport hotel,in Ipaja area of Lagos state, marked the beginning of another outstanding impact in the lives of NIMOSA 89 set.
According to him, in recent times, the association has witnessed a significant increase in the concern for members in building a greater NIMOSA 89’.
He said the body is expanding the association and bringing development by investing in members with the resources at its disposal.
In his words "We still have a long way to go, and only through a joint effort will we be able to reach our fundamental goal, We want all active members to take on the role for the future of the Association.’’
Speaking further he said "Our most sincere wish is that, in the next two years, our discussions and agreements will positively contribute to the consolidation of the aims of the Association and the philosophy underlying it."
Also speaking at the occasion, Mr. Rasaq Olaniyan also known as 'The King,' who also dual as the host commended all the active members of the forum, members in the diaspora and home for hosting this inauguration and devoting their time to ensure its success
He also commended the association's electoral committee and all members of the NIMOSA 89’ set for their support, love and humanity.
Rasaq, who his classmates also tagged as ‘ A Philanthropist’ talked on the formation of working committees, and also urged them to embrace unity.
The event was well attended by members of the set, NIMOSA general body, comprising of both Senior and Junior Old students representatives.
And also in attendance is their well celebrated Principal, Mr Titus Gregory Aderemi, who urged all members to be part of one or more committees to oversee the affairs of the association and also advised them to settle all differences in order to stay in unity.
Members of the association are excited about raffle wins, likely due to the opportunity to win prizes and potentially support a cause. This excitement is driven by the anticipation of winning, the prospect of enjoying the prizes, and the satisfaction of contributing to a good cause. The star prize ‘I phone’ was won by Mrs. Omolara Owoborode, other items won were BP Device Machine, cloth materials and cash gift.
According to the electoral chairmain, Mr Kazeem Afolabi Bakare, the election went smoothly and was free and fair.
Bakare stated that the electoral body, in collaboration with the electoral Secretary, Mrs Sekinat Ademola worked with stakeholders, conducted a comprehensive free and fair election where the under-listed officers emerged as winners and were sworn into office on 18 , May 2025.
