I know many Nigerians would remember the story of IFEOLUWA PRIMARY SCHOOL, SEBIOTIMO STREET, OFF CAPITOL ROAD, AGEGE; particularly on my timeline.
IFEOLUWA PRIMARY SCHOOL, AGEGE, ,LAGOS; is a public Primary School under Agege Local Government.
The School lacks every good facility to call it a learning center.
For many years, I have been calling the attention of Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Alhaji Ganiyu Egunjobi over the school he also attended as a kid.
For the record, the council chairman attended attended the same school, IFEOLUWA PRIMARY SCHOOL.
After overlooking my calls for years, the Chairman started the renovation about 2 years ago and till now, the renovation hasn't been completed. It is sad!
Many Agege politicians told me that Egunjobi said I am blackmailing him with that school. How? I am not a politician and not willing to be one. My main aim is to see the pupils of that school learning in a serene environment.
From the beginning of the rehabilitation, the contractor started on the wrong note by using the old planks and roofing sheets to fix the building. Although, I reported to the Council Chairman and he promised to tell the contractor to do the needful.
Truly, the roofing sheets were changed to the new ones but the old plants/ roofing woods were never replaced.
Now, it is almost two years and the renovation is still on going. Why?
The administration of Erin Jogunola will soon end in few months and what will happen to that school? Will the incoming Chairman has time to fix the school?
The pupils, about 485, are only managing themselves in six classrooms. It is sad.
Currently, the school has no toilet (apart from the makeshift accidentally provided by the School Head) when the school is littered with faeces.
The Food vendors have turned a corner in front of the classrooms to the cafeteria when Egunjobi led administration failed to complete the real cafeteria.
As Agege resident who has no biological children in that school but believe the pupils are my children and that of other residents, it is pertinent for me to be the voice of the voiceless.
The way the members of CDC, CDAs and other Politicians in the Community are keeping quiet is surprising as the children of the poor are attacking the Public Primary School.
I appeal to the Chairman of Agege Local Government to quickly complete the renovation of IFEOLUWA PRIMARY SCHOOL or I will match to Council Secretariat with the parents of the pupils.
