Much Ado about Olori Omoba of ijebu, reactions as people referes Wasiu Kabiyesi

The “Olori Omo'ba akile Ijebu” is not listed in the 107   Chieftaincy titles of Ogun state nor that of Ijebu District.

The Olori Omo'ba is not in the 1st Class Honorary Chieftaincy list in Ogun state nor Ijebu District.

It is an honour or certification (won fi da lola) from the Awujale of Ijebuland as he so desired.

It was so given to Subomi Balogun of the Tunwase Royal family and the Awujale decided to rotate it. Wasiu was given as the choice of the Fidipote Royal family. Incidentally, the Tunwases are next in line for the Awujale throne.

Olori Omo'ba title does not warrant the greetings of “Oba ki oo”, as he isn’t a king.

In the jurisdiction of the location of the Olori Omo'ba’s residence there is an “Oloritun” (area head)  that he is even subjectable to.

The only Obas ( Alaiyeluwa) recognised and with Palaces in Ijebu Ode are:
1. The Olisa of Ijebu-ode for Ijebuode and District

2. The Awujale of Ijebuland for the whole of Ijebuland

(Similar to Lagos hosting a governor and a president, back in the day.

The Chieftaincy title of “Olori Omo'ba Akile Ijebu”can be given to anybody that has Ijebu kingship backgrounds from any town in old ijebu province.

. . .

*OLORI OMOBA SAGA*

*Wasiu Ayinde is turning the whole Olori Omoba thing into something else.*

*This title has no bearing with spirituality, it is not even a chieftaincy title.*

*It was created by Awujale to assuage Otunba Subomi Balogun when the Fusegboye Ruling House was fighting over Oloriebi title in the 90's, which was denied Subomi that year.*

*Subomi Balogun was furious and Awujale being a close ally of Subomi, created the position of Olori Omooba as an honorary title bigger than  Oloriebi position.*

*However Subomi built that title into higher equity that he prefers to be identified with rather than his traditional title of Otunba Tunwase.*

*Olori Omooba is an honorary title, it doesn't require any traditional rites nor is equated to an oba status.*

*Where KWAM 1 imported all the priests performing the Ilete is what I don't understand.*

*Yes, Wasiu Anifowoshe is an Ijebu Prince, no doubt; but people referring to him as Kabiyesi is what I cannot comprehend.*

*I doubt if the late Subomi Balogun, the premier holder performed any royal rites nor was referred to as Kabiyesi.*

*I'm surprised that Awujale is silent on this abuse, while the Olu - Isa of Ijebu Ode, who is the official oba of Ijebu Ode is being denied the title of Kabiyesi, whereas Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe, who is just an honorary title holder is being referred to as Kabiyesi, without any cautions from any quarter.*

*What a sacrilege! What a bad precedent!*

*Eweso ooo!!*
