World Omoluabi festival sets to hold in Lagos



The 5th Omoluabi Festival & Royal Icon Awards tagged: Yoruba Indigenization 2023 is slated for 1st May, 2023 at the prestigious National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos by 11am.

This event is a global spectacular event aimed at bringing together all Great sons and daughters of Oduduwa globally.

We have come a long way to realize the importance of unity, peace and development of the Yoruba nationhood,inline with the Omoluabi ethics, prestige, honour, wisdom, hard work cum mutual respect.

Hence, this year's edition is specially hosted in Lagos after enjoying four good years of Ile-Ife hosting by our Grand Host and Royal Father, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, Ooni of the Olori Alade gbogbo, whose authority has confirmed to move this epoch making event to the city of Lagos and Center of Excellence, with over 2 million expected participants and tourists both within Nigeria and from the Diaspora.

EKOFEST 23 is a major milestone in the history of the Yoruba Council Worldwide: Igbimo Apapo Yoruba Lagbaye umbrella body to all Yoruba indigenous groups globally, with special focus on Indigenization of all Yorubas to believe and hold on to their true noble Omoluabi identity.

We are now confronted with both internal and external aggression from our would be neighbors and home-grown traitors, .most of whom are hellbent to take over our land with Dering claims of joint ownership of Lagos State, a major epicenter of global market and progressive economy, hence the need to reawakening our conversation and consciousness on the need to indigenize our People to come home and build Yoruba Land collectively, precipitating our resolution to use the opportunity of this year's festival to call everyone to order and celebrate our aesthetic cultural heritage and values at it's peak .

We shall be working closely with the Lagos State Government under the hosting honour by His Excellency, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor of Lagos State and Omoluabi Eko Pataki Oodua of Yoruba Land and the Lagos State Ministry of Arts, Tourism and Culture, while using this medium to appreciate the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Tourism and Culture, National Arts Theatre management, National Troupe of Nigeria's indefatigable efforts and supports, and wide range of opportunities and administrative support of the National Council of Arts and Culture,while not forgetting our would be official sponsors ranging from Goldberg Nigerian Breweries, Coca-cola, Bet 9ja, Newaage, Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, Wema Bank, FCMB, Grandoak Plc, UAC, Cadbury, Andron Homes, while not forgetting our media partners Alaroye, Faaji FM, Radio Lagos, Eko FM, LTV, Bond FM radio, Tribune, Nation to mention a few.

We believe this event we herald a new paradigm in the celebration of our culture and traditions, because this is the mother of all festivals , with over   2000 Royal Fathers across Yoruba land and 1000 diverse performances ranging from best of performing Arts, cultural festival enthusiasts  and Drama display by all the various traditional festivals we have known and experienced in Yoruba Land like Eyo, Egungun, Igunuko, Fanty, Kiladelu, Zangbeto, while performing arts Troup from all the Yoruba speaking states of Nigeria will be witnessed with high energetic innovation and uncommon vision.

Let's look high on to the mountain tops that Omoluabi Day Festival 2023 is the beginning of greater heights in Yoruba Land and by extension Nigeria, Africa and global community at large.
