Residents of Imagba ibonwon, near igbonla in the Eredo Local Council Development Area , Epe in Lagos say their lives are being threatened by gunmen whose activities include, Kidnapping, attacking and killing their people. Victims recount ordeals. Alhaji Waheed Adegbegba, Professor Oluwafumbi Adeyemi and Otunba Felix Tomiwa Oloriebi were lucky as they narrowly escaped being killed.
According to Otunba Tomiwa who spoke on behaif of the Oshifeso Royal Family " We employed a chap Taiwo Olumide popularly known as T9 as a security man to heip oversee our land at face 2, Imogba and we agreed that we wouid give him a plot per acre .That whatever money that was needed wouid be his responsibility
and instead we were the one sponsoring and we. have bank evidence of how we gave money to him. Suddenly he brought hoodlums and started selling our land without informing us. When we confronted him he boasted that he wouid deal ruthlessly with us that the police force
Is in his control. One day we went to the site to see those we instructed to do the clearing and on getting there the supervisor was also not on ground and on our way home T9 and his men accosted us in a black jeep, 2 motorcycle, 3 passengers on each of the motor cycle fully armed with guns and machetes. They shot sporadically in the air while we scampered for safety they caught up with us and damaged the vehicle belonging to Professor Adeyemi ,stole his Rolex wristwatch and the sum of 2.5million naira.
"T9 slapped me 3 times and later beat me." Our investigations reaveled that the incident was reported at the maforija police station, Epe where we were given note to General hospital for treatment.
Speaking further Professor Adeyemi Oluwafunmbi stated," They smashed 9inch block on me, hit me with stick and damaged our vehicles. Taiwo Olumide Enitiodunmo (T9) and Jamiu Alaya were charged Igbosere Magistrate court 18 with charged number R/52/2022. Enitiodunmo"s second in command, Adewale Kareem was also arrested by police detectives attached to Zone 2 command , Onikan,Lagos and taken to the same court with charged number, R/23/2022 for robbery..What baffled us was that with all their criminal activities the magistrate still granted them bail.. We cry loud to the Inspector- General Of Police, Alikali Baba Ahmed, The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the people of Epe to save our souls from these notorious land grabbers using tired àssasins to terrorise Epe Imagba land". The suspects have since been taken to prison pending when they meet their bail requirements. The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.K. Awoyinka ordered that the suspects be remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the perfection of their bail requirements while the case was adjourned to January 13.
