Allah says in the Glorious Qur'an that; Oh, you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may learn piety and righteousness” [Quran,2:183]
From the above portion of the Holy Book Almighty Allah has commanded all mankind to always desirably use this season to reflect on moral and righteous conducts.
Hence, on behalf of the entire leadership and members (Ọmọluabis) of the Apex body for all Yoruba indigenous youths all around the globe; Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide, YCYW, under the Presidency of Aare Barr. Oladotun Hassan i.e Ààrẹ Olori Ọdọ Oódua, we felicitate with all our teeming Muslim faithfuls on sighting of the moon which indicates the commencement of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
However, it is pertinent to remind us that as we break our fast, let's ensure to always remember our dear country in our prayers and also remember those in need in our society – we hope that this year's Ramadan season would be very special towards ensuring the revalidation of our collective loyalty and support towards achieving a working and successful Nigeria. Let's put the lessons of Ramadan as commanded by Almighty Allah through Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) to action for sustainable development of our dear Nation.
We pray that may Allah in His infinite mercy accept our fasting and prayers in the holy month of Ramadan as an act of worship. Ameen!
